Daizan Soriano

Daizan Soriano is a Zen meditation teacher in the Soto Zen Buddhist tradition and president of the Camino Medio Soto Zen Community.

He received Dharma Transmission (dempo) on December 4, 2020, from his teacher Taisei Dokushô Villalba roshi, within the lineage of the Buddhas and Ancestors of the Soto Zen tradition.

His encounter with meditation practice goes back to 1993, when a deep inner search led him to discover zazen. In 1999 he was accepted as a disciple by his teacher and began a path of training, practice, and service to the sangha that continues today.

Since 2003 he has been responsible for the Alicante Zen Center, and since 2006 he has taught Zen meditation and Buddhist studies continuously, accompanying many people in practice, training, and the creation of practice communities.

In 2016 he also began working as a mindfulness instructor at the School of Mindfulness, integrating this field into his teaching experience and bringing mindfulness practice to educational and everyday-life contexts.

He currently leads the Camino Medio Soto Zen Community, a network of sanghas and practice centers offering in-person and online teaching. From this space he offers courses, retreats, conferences, and guidance in meditation practice and in integrating the Dharma into daily life.

He is the author of books and educational projects on meditation and Soto Zen Buddhism, and combines his spiritual teaching work with his role as a teacher in public education.

He lives in Elche with his family.

His teaching is characterized by a direct, close, and deeply practice-rooted approach, oriented toward integrating the Dharma into people's real lives.
