12. Terms of service for CSZCM courses

1. Purpose of content

Courses provided by CSZCM are intended exclusively for the study, practice, and transmission of Soto Zen Buddhism in an educational and spiritual context. They do not replace medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, or other professional advice.

2. Personal responsibility

Each participant is responsible for their own learning process and for how they interpret and apply course content. CSZCM is not liable for outcomes resulting from partial, incorrect, or decontextualized interpretations.

3. Proper use of content

All course materials (texts, audio, video, images, presentations, etc.) are intellectual property of CSZCM or their respective authors and are protected by applicable law. Reproduction, distribution, modification, or unauthorized use is prohibited without prior written consent.

4. Interpretation of teachings

Buddhist teachings, and Soto Zen in particular, often require guidance, sustained study, and qualified instruction. We recommend not making major decisions based solely on course content without consulting a qualified teacher or experienced practitioner.

5. Use of recordings and online sessions

Online sessions may be recorded by CSZCM for educational, archival, or dissemination purposes. Participation in online sessions implies acceptance of this possibility.

Class recordings, talks, interventions, or questions may be used in podcasts, video platforms, or related formats to make Soto Zen teachings more accessible. Special care is taken to protect participant privacy. If an intervention contains sensitive or identifying information and a participant does not want it published, they may request exclusion before or after recording.

Participants may not record, reproduce, or distribute sessions without explicit authorization. Unauthorized distribution may have legal consequences.

6. Limitation of liability

CSZCM and its teachers are not responsible for direct or indirect physical or psychological harm resulting from course participation or the use of content outside its intended framework.

7. Updates and changes

CSZCM reserves the right to update course content and these terms to address pedagogical, legal, or operational changes. Registered participants will be informed in reasonable time.

8. Acceptance of terms

Accessing courses and using their materials implies full acceptance of these Terms of Service.
